Following a pilot observational study, we are now conducting a randomized controlled trial (RCT) comparing two approaches in individuals at possible risk for psychosis.

The first group is receiving the CT-NEAR program (cognitive remediation), which includes 36 sessions over three months. The aim is to improve thinking skills such as attention, memory, reasoning, problem-solving, and processing speed.

The second group is receiving enhanced treatment as usual (E-TAU), which involves interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychoeducation, with structured activities of equivalent duration but without specific cognitive training.

This study is supported by a grant from the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) awarded to Drs. J. Ventura and U. Ouali.
